MAFW has 2 main guidelines or mottos that riders and ride leaders should follow:

  1. Nobody rides alone including the ride leader
  2. Ride leader sweeps for all rides except B and faster

Save the Dates, Part 2

Grteetings, friends.

It was pointed out to me by a fellow club member that I had a senior moment and forgot to mention another fun food date in September.

There will be another joint bike ride with BTCNJ out of Denville on September 27.  Those who wish to do so can go to Diamond Springs Brewery after the ride for pizza provided by the club.  Drinks are at your discretion and not paid for by the Club.

MAFW fall club picnic on Sunday, September 14 at White Oak Park.  More details to follow soon,

Second annual Morris Area Freeewheeler Foundtion Benefit Lunch on Monday, September 29 at the Gourmet Cafe, 136 Baldwin Rd., Parsippany.  A portion of the total bill will be generously donated to the MAFF by owner and chef Matthew Pierone.  Let’s top last year’s attendance of 14!  More details on the Club calendar.

RIDE LEADER MEETING CANCELLED

My apologies but I will have to cancel the ride leader meeting scheduled for next week.

ROY’S PENN DUTCH WEEKEND SEPT 19-21

This will be the 10th weekend of fun in the Penn Dutch area in Lancaster County. Pa. This is the second year that this event will be in the fall because we have found it to usually be great weather for bicycle riding,  To get more information on this event please go the MAFW Calendar.

Party Ride August 23, 2025 at Harry Dunham Park

Good Evening All:

Our next party ride will be on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at Harry Dunham Park. The club will be providing those amazing sloppy joe sandwiches from Avenue Deli in New Providence, as well as chips, fritos, watermelon, and beverages. And we will be having some drawings for some nice giveaways at the end of the ride. So that we get an accurate head count for the food quantities, please sign up for the rides asap. The weather forecast looks ideal. Come join us for our August party ride.

I just want to remind you that our next party ride will be this Saturday, August 23, 2025 at Harry Dunham Park. We will be providing delicious sloppy joes, some veggie wraps, watermelon, chips, fritos and beverages.  In addition, we will having drawings for some nice giveaways.  We posted a great C+ ride, #612,  a 45 miler that is need of a ride leader, so if you are available, we would appreciate you leading that ride. So we have an accurate head count for the food, please sign up asap.   The weather forecast looks great. Looking forward to seeing you on Saturday.

August Party Ride

Dear Friends,

Saturday August 23 is the date of the next party ride and it’s sure to be another great day.

The club will provide sloppy joes and beverages. Those of you who attended the winter party know how delicious they are.  You don’t want to miss out on the fun, friendship, and food.

Memorial Ride for Wajih Abdul-Haqq

This Sunday Aug 17 there will be a Memorial Ride for Wajih Addul-Haqq who was a cyclist killed Aug 4 on North Ave in Westfield by a drunk driver.  Ride will start 9:30 am from 513 Richmond St, Elizabeth with gathering at 9am.  This will be a casual pace for 20-25 miles.
