Important: Proposed Changes to Club Bylaws

Greetings, Friends.

The club’s Board of Directors has revised its bylaws and has approved them.  Changes to club Bylaws need to be voted on by club membership and will be changed if there is a minimum of 2/3 of voters supporting those changes.  Voting can be done by clicking on the following link:

https://mafw.org/2026-voting-on-the-bylaws-update/

Voting will close on June 18, 2026.  Please be sure to cast your vote by then.

The bylaws changes include:

  1. Cleaning up and deleting some existing language and items that are no longer applicable
  2. Adding a Conflict of Interest policy
  3. Making changes to eligibility for candidacy for Board member positions
  4. Establishing a protocol and timeframe for elections of Board members

The current bylaws can be found at:

https://mafw.org/club-bylaws/

And there is a link to the proposed changes on the home page of the club’s website.

Should you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me.

Have fun; stay safe!

Warm regards,

Michael

RIDE COORDINATOR UPDATE

Ride Coordinator Update

-With the warm weather, be sure to carry enough water and to use sunscreen. Club motto is “Nobody Rides Alone” and this is especially important during hot weather    This motto also applies to ride leaders who are obligated to sweep for most rides.

-Just a reminder that the posted time for a ride is the time that the ride leaves.  Be sure to arrive 15-30 minutes before the start time to give yourself time to prepare for the ride. Recommend adjusting your tire pressures at home in case you encounter issues.

-Having navigation on a ride is essential.  All rides have cue sheets and Ride with GPS files.  At least print out a cue sheet for your ride.

-Be sure to pick a ride that you can maintain the minimum pace but not to worry since ride leaders will not drop you unless you choose to try a B or A ride.

-If you sign up for a ride and decide later that you can’t attend the ride, be sure to remove your name from the ride.  This is especially important if there is a waiting list for that ride.
