Ride Reports 4 years, 4 months agoI lead the 1217 tour today – from the Denville Savage start. The food stop, Lakeside Bagels, is now closed on Sunday. Perhaps this is temporary, didn’t see any sign of that.

Ride Reports 4 years, 5 months agoI lead ride 925 Two Times Kingland on Sunday, December 13, 2020. While the covid restrictions are here, the meal stop, Lakeshore Bagels, is closed on Sunday.
Alternate stops are Kinnelon Bagels at mile 22.6 or Bagel Spot 84 Boonton Ave at mile 25 -

Website Feedback 4 years, 5 months agoI don’t think the meet up function will be very useful for members because to see postings a member must first go to the meetup area. Alternatively, the skiing group that I found is more beneficial because it puts the topic on the home page.

I added a feed for groups on the front page underneath the forums listing. You can click on the Group Name to go to the groups page or you can directly add a comment while still on the front page.

Meetups 4 years, 5 months agoI am going to ski at Hunter mountain with a friend on this Friday, December 18. As you may know, there is a forecast of snow ahead. On Wednesday, 10 to 14 inches of snow is expected. On Thursday an additional 2 to 4 inches. If you’d like to meet up there, let me know. Website Feedback 4 years, 6 months agoAnother suggestion in regard to the same weekend that I organize. I first start to list the ride early in the year, perhaps January. But the information changes as I book the restaurants that we will be using and the routes that will be available. Currently I do not know of a way to update my ride listing. Can that be changed?

Only this past year did I list it with this club. Though the number of participants was 10, less than half of last year because of covid concerns. However, no one from MAFW signed up. I have signed up for the first time to ride the Spellbound Century on July 25, 2020. I’d like to know if anyone has any comments about the 100 mile route such as being hilly or mostly flat, bad pavement, etc.
And I would like to know what to expect at the event. Is it similar to most mass ride events or is there something different about this ride? Thanks

That study and other ones are currently being circulated. I can see an issue if one athlete follows in the slipstream of the one in front. Of course any side wind would quickly dissipate expelled air from anyone and carry it away from anyone else. And of course, if one is wearing a face mask then it would be the safest method.

I’ve been taking some bike rides and some runs. Working in the house and backyard. Sending correspondence about my Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) And looking for routes to go on with friends when we ride in groups again.

I added a note that Lakeside Bagels is now closed on Sundays. I also added this note on the tours that mention Lakeside Bagel as a food stop.
Thank you. I did phone them later and was told that they expect to resume to be open on Sunday when the pandemic restrictions are over.
