05/11Mon11:00amC/B/34/1700Chatham Township Municipal BuildingLou Blanco1515 - CTMB Jacob's Ladder50

My apologies for scheduling this ride so late in the evening. But, hopefully you were looking for a ride and will consider this one. CTMB Jacob's Ladder hasn't been ridden since January. It's an interesting route that travels on a few roads we seldom ride on. There will be one minor change around mile 25 to take us off 202. We'll be turning right on Baileys Mill instead of Glen Alpen. This will probably shave a mile off the total distance while alleviating some of the stress of riding on the shoulder of 202.

No planned stop so bring a snack. Hope you can make it!

This is a different ride from CTMB that we are used too.  This one is looking for the hills, and this one does not disappoint.  There are no planned stops so make sure you bring your legs, fluids and proper nutrition.

Speedier riders welcome to ride with us or sail ahead.

A great ride which goes on all of your favorite roads. Some light traffic can be expected.

Posting the same route as Jeff’s ride which is already filled up. No planned stop. Bring enough to drink.

  • This ride is a modification of MAFW 1121.   This route avoids a long ride on Rattlesnake Road.    The route returns via Burnt Mill Road to Meadow and then on to Bed 1. The Rest Stop is at the Whitehouse General Store at Mile 23.5 (closed on Sundays)

One of my favorite rides because we travel on Burnt Mill Road. We have the option of a stop at Oldwick or Whitehouse General Store. Weather should be pleasant and seasonable. Come join me on Tuesday.

05/12Tue10:00amC/B/32/1852Denville Savage RdPete Aldrich1217 - Old Beach Glen the Easier Way58

No rain in the forecast for Tuesday so let’s ride. I will be leading/sweeping at the low end of C pace. We’ll stop at Smartworld Coffee on Diamond Spring Road in Denville near the end.

This tour is essentially the reverse of our popular #848, with a loop through Cedar Lake & Cooks Pond early on.  It tackles Old Beach Glen early on and is a less steep  challenge.  It also reverses the awkward downhill of the pothole filled portion of Kinnelon Ave & makes it a safer route. It also schedules a stop at Lakeside Bagels, and thus eliminates the risky crossing of Green Pond Road.

05/12Tue10:00amC/C+/40/1773Mine Brook ParkArnie Cohen1159 - Down the Delaware Without a Paddle44

It's been awhile since we have ridden out of Mine Brook. Here's your opportunity

I  suggest a slight detour in the route. Instead of walking bikes across the Delaware twice, suggest we take a break in Stockton and ride the towpath to Alexauken then back on cue.

Come out and try another fun ride on quiet back roads. There's enough climbing to be challenging. Enjoy a wonderful downhill on Federal Twist Rd before traveling southward on both the NJ & PA sides of the Delaware River. You may see Sebastian - a Puli dog with dreadlocks, when crossing from Stockton to Centre Bridge. Rest stop at the Lambertville Trading Company.

05/12Tue10:15amD+/C/23/809Pluckemin (Bedminster I)Barry Seip1384 - Let's Eat at Whitehouse Station35

Need to do a shorter ride on Tuesday.

There will be a STOP at the Whitehouse General Store.

Then we will do a 'modified' return to avoid riding on Rattlesnake Rd.

Weather: Sunny / Temps around 60 degrees / Light Wind

Come out and join me on Tuesday.

This ride is a shortened version of MAFW 1121.   The loop to Oldwick is eliminated.   This ride is about 23 miles long and relatively flat.   The stop is at the Whitehouse General Store at about mile 12.4: Barry Seip (D+), Marty Siegel (D+), Carolyn Gordon, Petra Strickland (D+)Scheduled
05/12Tue10:15amC+/B/45/2457Mine Brook ParkJohn Parsekian1118 - Black Eddy Frenchtown Frolic55

We can skip the Pa section and walking two bridges if the group wants to. Milford is close to half way so I suggest we take a break there. Frenchtown is also an option.

It will be in the 50's when we start but temps should improve during the ride.

Starting from Mine Brook Park, climb the plateau to Alexandria & Holland Townships. Descend to Milford & cross the Delaware to Upper Black Eddy, Pa. After a break overlooking the canal at Homestead Coffee Roasters (known for such blends as “Dead Man’s Brew”) return to NJ via the Uhlerstown Frenchtown bridge. Smooth sailing back to Flemington. Enough variety & climbing to keep Arnie happy! Tour by Tony Marchand & Pat Kipp (2017).

Following Jeff's Ride at 10am.

However, I might choose not to do the loop back via Meadow.

The STOP will be at the Whitehouse General Store at Mile 23.

Weather: Sunny / Light Wind / Temps in the mid-60s.

Come out and join a MAFW ride on Tuesday.

I will be leading a 20-25 mile from the hotel at a moderate D+ pace on Friday.  I will be leading a longer ride on Sat and a short ride on Sunday. Once you are registered and paid, please sign up here.

The 2026 Hershey Spring Cycling Weekend, hosted by Bike Tours by Linda, in partnership with the National 9/11 Memorial Trail Alliance, will take place May 15-16-17.  We will be staying at the newly renovated Holiday Inn in Hershey/Grantville - this hotel is a conference center, which hosts many conventions.  We have the Grand Ballroom reserved for us, for the whole weekend.

The Spring Weekend has a very similar format to the Fall Weekend - buffet-style breakfasts and dinners at the hotel, plenty of sandwiches and snacks to take with you during your rides, presentations after dinner.  Wide variety of scenic routes, both on the roads, as well as trails.  The local Harrisburg Bicycle Club will be assisting us.

Nearby scenic and historic attractions include quaint towns, farmlands, the Susquehanna River in Harrisburg, Fort Hunter Mansion, City Island, Fort Indiantown Gap, and Memorial Lake State Park.  We will also be providing live music on Saturday afternoon, as well as the popular blender-bike, so that guests can pedal-up some delicious concoctions.  We will also have raffle prizes....this time, we will draw the raffle tickets no later than Sunday breakfast time!

For cyclists traveling with non-cyclist companions, there are plenty of activities and attractions, which can be enjoyed without a bike.  The hotel has an indoor pool and a fitness center.  The hotel is close to Hershey Park/Chocolate World, Hollywood Casino/Penn National Raceway, as well as the State Capital in Harrisburg.

For YOU, the "Friends & Family" VIP Discount registration form is attached.

The website (biketoursbylinda.com) will be updated for the Spring Weekend within the next week or so, but in the meantime, registration for the Spring Weekend is OPEN for YOU, our Friends & Family VIPs.  You may register either via postal mail, or, on-line via Zelle.
