I hope you will come with me and enjoy a relaxing D+ ride throughout this beautiful part of NJ

06/01Mon10:00amC/B/35/1762Pluckemin (Bedminster I)Betsy Eastwood548 - Pluckemin-Hacklebarney50

This is a true sombrero ride with a very large climb in the middle, between mile 11 to mile 20 with a steep descent on Black River Rd (be careful!).  Please BYOS (bring your own snack) because the rest stop is in Pottersville.  We haven't been up to Hacklebarney in a while, and it should be a perfect day for a bike ride with temps in the 70s and some clouds.  Let's ride!  I will lead from the back.  Please join me tomorrow.

A truly scenic ride along the Black River, with horse farms, black-belted cows, and that great downhill along Black River Road. A nice climb up Guinea Hollow Road, with broad vistas as your reward. Ride by: Lorin Press

CAUTION - steep downhill on narrow & rough road with blind corners on Black River Road
Food stops:
Black River General Store in Pottersville (no restrooms - late - mile 24) or Mountainville Gourmet Expressions (closed Sun, Mon & Tues - early - mile 13).

This route hasn't been ridden in over 2 years, but it's a nice way to go down to the Sourlands and avoid the busiest roads.  The weather right now looks to be quite mild, but it might be damp from rain overnight. I've set a later start time to give the roads a chance to dry out, but stay tuned in case the start time changes. We'll take a break at Boro Bean before the climb out of Hopewell and regroup periodically to keep the group together. Strong C+ riders are welcome.

"A scenic ride to the Sourlands with gradual climbs on the way to Hopewell. Look for Candlelight Farm Alpacas on Manner Road where you will see the herd out in the field. Rest stop at Boro Bean. On the return trip, a long uphill will be followed by a welcome downhill. All crossings on Rt 202 are controlled."Food: Hopewell (mile 27) - Boro Bean or Brick Farm3: Eric Lavitsky (B), Lynn Kheshgi (C+), Tom SterkScheduled
