Ride through beautiful rural countryside in the Neshanic Station and Whitehouse Station areas, on familiar roads named Woodfern, Barley Sheaf, and Lazy Brook.

In spite of it being April Fools’ Day,  the weather will be warmer and that’s no joke!!  There are two climbs, but also some nice downhills. Our stop will be in Princeton at either the Momo Bread Company or the Princeton Library across the street that has bathrooms and snacks. Please bring a mask to the enter the library, they enforce it. Reminder, we will begin from Parking Lot C in Colonial Park. Come join me on Friday and welcome in April weather.

A wonderfully flat and relaxing ride around the Swamp. A great beginners ride. You get the serenity of the Great Swamp.

This route climbs to the highest point in Tewksbury, on Mt. Grove. Then travels around Cokesbury and into Lebanon, before going back to Tewksbury. There are some familiar roads and hills and some not so familiar roads and hills, all very quiet and pleasant. Tour by Muffin Williams (2017)

RXIII 100 Outer (55 loop) Modified - A bike ride in Bernards Township, NJ (ridewithgps.com)

This is the most current version of this ride that is being planned as the outer loop of this year's 100 mile Ramble.

Use this link to see all the differences.

First is a bypass of Pluckemin center, Second is a bypass of the bridge out on Mill Rd, Third uses Guinea Hollow to avoid a steep hill.  Fourth uses Frog Hollow to avoid another steep hill. Fifth avoids the center of Chester, and the last avoids Lake Road which is in poor condition. 

Expect at least a C+ effort to get a C pace on this terrain.

Some nice hills, mostly quiet scenic roads, one short busy section on RT# 24 in Chester, then a beautiful long downhill on Old Chester Road.

I probably can't do the tc bottom pace which is 15 but hopefully to be in the 14's avg range.

Ride from Loantaka Park into the Great Swamp, through Meyersville and along Fairmount Ave. and Southern Blvd. in Chatham. One good hill out of the Swamp, otherwise easy terrain.

This is a very pleasant and scenic ride. Still plenty of country roads here, but expect to encounter some traffic at beginning and end of ride.

A good ride in Denville weather should be nice. I prefer a short stop at Lakeside Bagels or skip all together and stop at the end of the ride at Church St. Bagels/Smart World in Denville. Short ride back to the parking lot start.

Finally an easier (at the bottom of B terrain range with 51'/mile average climb) Denville ride which stays in the Rockaway Valley area and avoids the steeper surrounding climbs. If you are looking for easiest ride from Denville, choose 1060, which is this tour without climb up the Meadowbrook Rd. loop. Tour by Ron Salny (2016).

Pleasant ride through Rockaway Valley, while easily avoiding Split Rock Rd. Ride through Mtn. Lakes then on to Denville on new quiet back roads.

All that being noted, I am going to try to go up Old Carversville Rd. to Fleecydale Rd. It's a left turn before you get to Fleecydale. It might work, it might not, but I want to give it a try. 

A magical ride that takes you on Harmony School & Stone Signpost up to the plateau, down Federal Twist to the Bulls Island Bridge crossing the Delaware. On Fleecydale, you will see the "Whimsy House". Enter the "Secret Garden" at the Carversville General store. Return via Center Bridge to Stockton. You will see alpacas, sheep, cows, pigs & horses. I’ve ridden this route several times and I like it. We will travel some roads that we rarely ride on including Somerville/ Hunter Road, Washington Valley Road, and of course, climbing Schley Mountain Road. Our stop will be at Ridge Bagel at mile 29. The temperature at 10 am Saturday is expected to be 60 degrees. 

A nice brisk ride on both suburban and rural roads. A variety of gentle and rolling terrain.
