01/13 | Wed | 10:30am | C+/B/34/2292 | Pleasant Valley Park, Basking Ridge | John Parsekian | 764 - Pleasant Valley-Watchung Ridge | 67 | This ride is a little on the hilly side but has a pleasant stretch in Watchung Reservation and some nice views along the way. There is a detour when we exit the reservation: straight on Valley Road, left on Bonne Burn, right on Johnson. I will make sure everyone is clear on this. Rest stop at Starbucks at mile 26 if anyone wants to stop. | This tour earns it B terrain rating with its sawtooth terrain profile. CAUTION: As you leave the park headed toward Valley Rd, the road has a cobblestone section with a stream passing over it. While this is fine for cars, it is extremely dangerous for bicycles.
