Been almost a year since this route was last ridden. Should be sunny and pleasant, warming up towards the end of the ride. There's not a lot of elevation, so we'll maintain a good pace. I will not sweep, but we will regroup periodically to keep the group together. You should be able to maintain at least a 16 mph average pace and follow the route if separated from the group.

Who was John Ringoes?  He owned Ringo's Taverin where many important Revolutionary War meetings were held and he was burried a few blocks from the Carousel rest stop on 12 Boss Rd in Ringoes. This tour travels new and old roads to Ringoes and returns via Everitts and Barley Sheaf Roads, skirting Flemington. NOTE: Similar to tour #906, but starts from Pluckemin.

CAUTION: Uncontrolled crossing of Route 202 on River Road (mile 7.7) Food stops: Ringoes (Ringoes Country Deli - mile 26.7) 6: John Parsekian, Max Smith, Joe Felker(B), Andrew Diorio, Bill Zalan(C)ridden

Most of the "C" riders on the rides I led this spring are now riding at C+ pace, so come join me on this C terrain ride. I will sweep any rider who can  maintain a 14.5 mph average speed.  Short break, but not long enough to sip a coffee and schmooze.  I will bring shortbread cookies for the end of the ride, and we can schmooze then.

Most of you will be on new roads in Convent Station, including the Traction Line Path. Our stop will be at mile 30, the Fairmount Deli. I plan on maintaining a high C pace, at least a 14.0. 06/28Tue 9:35amB/C+/51/2105Pluckemin (Bedminster I)Andy Milstein617 - Pluckemin - Ringoes41

I will sweep any rider that can maintain a 16.0 mph average speed.  Short break but not long enough to sip coffee and chit chat.  I will bring cookies and cake for those who want to linger at the end of the ride.  The ride will not be cancelled because I got emails from riders that they will ride at an average speed between 16 and 17 miles per hour (i.e., a true B pace).  This ride has an elevation averaging only 41 feet per mile, so faster C+ riders can do this at 16 mph (as I am).  There is a road closure at mile 37.4 or so that is very easily avoided.  See https://ridewithgps.com/routes/39972314  The revised cuesheet is attached.

Outbound on York Road to Ringoes back throught Wertsville & familiar Sommerset

07/04Mon 8:00amC/A/26/2012Harry Dunham ParkJeff Sperling677 - The Hills of Bernardsville77

"They say it's your birthday, well it's my birthday too, yeah." Well ,sort of.  Louise Thomas and I have birthdays 10 days apart, so we decided to meet in the middle and have a special breakfast birthday ride on July 4th that will start and finish at Louise's wonderful house in Bernardsville.  It just so happens that ride #677, The Hills of Bernardsville, literally goes right by Louise's house. If you consult the map,  the original ride, started and ended at Harry Dunham Park., and required us to climb Liberty Corner Road at the end of the ride.  I have eliminated the Harry Dunham Park spur from the ride and modified Ride #677, with the start and finish to her address at 261 Post Kunhardt Road, Bernardsville. The new ride will be about 21 miles with 1600 feet of elevation. We also do not have to travel on the bad part of Lake Road. I will be posting the revised route in the next day. You will get a good workout early and still have plenty of the day for you to celebrate the 4th.

There will be ample parking on Louise's property as well as Mountain Top Road. After the ride, we will have a birthday breakfast of bagels, cream cheese, fresh fruit, muffins, coffee and plenty of water.  If you want to be more comfortable, there are shower facilities and changing rooms post ride. Come join us for this unique birthday ride.

A somewhat hilly ride up into the towns of Bernardsville and Peapack. The homes are amazing, the roads are lightly traveled and the time spent climbing will justify dessert this evening! 8: Louise Thomas, Dennis McDermott(C), Walter Paul(NA), John Storey(C), Bob Warren(C), Barry Seip(D+), Greg T(B)ridden

Should be pleasant for a ride into Hunterdon with some gradual climbing up to Stanton Mt and then mostly downhill and flat. If the Neshanic bridge is closed, we will detour via Pleasant Run to River and back to Opie to get back on course. I will not sweep, but we will regroup periodically to keep the group together. Possible rest stop at Wawa if anyone needs.

This ride is one of my favorites, and I think all will enjoy it.  I will gladly sweep any rider who can maintain a 14.5 mph average speed.  Short break, but no time to sip coffee and chat.  Instead I will bring individually wrapped cookies and we can hang out at the finish.  The ride will be cancelled if no true C+ riders sign up unless I get an email from a rider that they will ride at a true C+ pace (i.e., 14.5 to 16 mph).

This is tour 1104 with start point moved to Summer Road Park. Through the ever interesting and somewhat challenging Sourland Mt. via well known but not very steep Linvale Rd. Food stop is in Ringoes at the Carousel. Tour by Chaim Schreiber (2017).

Due to the bridge being out on Meriden Rd, at mile 20.6 we'll turn Left on to Meriden Rd going about a mile and turn right on Old Beach Glen.  At the end of Old Beach Glen turn left on Meriden and you'll be back on course.  I encourage you to look at the map.  It's pretty straightforward once you see the map.  The detour will, my guess, add about a mile.  You'll get to do Old Beach Glen in both directions.  It's a very nice road and worth seeing twice.  We'll go over the changes before the ride.
