10/15Fri 9:30amC/C+/30/1310Far Hills R.R.Jeff Sperling214 - Far Hills East For Real **CANCELED**44

Here’s a short but nice ride out of Far Hills that hasn’t been ridden in over a year. While we have some short climbs up Liberty Corner Road , Pond Hill Road, and Mt. Bethel Road, we also have some long descents on Somerville Road, and the same Liberty Corner Road. And for those of you who dislike climbing all of Lake Road in Basking Ridge, this ride calls for a turn on Culberson. Because of the distance, there is no scheduled official stop, but we will stop for hydration and snacks as needed.

Due to the ongoing construction on Liberty Corner Road, we will have one detour in the end that most of you already know about. At the bottom of Somerville Road, stay straight onto Cantebury Way. At the next corner, make a left on Mine Brook Road. Then Make a left on Douglas Road and proceed one mile. Make a right on Liberty Corner Road and you are back on the route. Weather will be warm and muggy. Come join me on Friday.

A nice ride to Liberty Corner, Basking Ridge, and Stirling, past horse farms on scenic back roads of Somerset County. Food stops: Sterling (O'Bagel - mile 14), Millington Railroad Station (early - mile 12) 0: canceled
10/15Fri 9:30amC/C+/40/2022Mine Brook ParkMark Baumeister1109 - Centre Bridge - No Diving Allowed51

This one has not been done lately. I think all roads are open. At least none appear on Hunterdon County website. I will sweep at bottom of pace. Propose skipping the 2 walks across the bridges and stay on Rte.29 to Federal Twist. Stop would be in Stockton.

This tour is for anyone who enjoys the scenic roads of NJ and PA. Cross the Delaware at Centre Bridge and head up to the Lumberville General Store. After taking a break, return via the Bull's Island Bridge. A mix of new roads and some familiar roads in different directions will provide just enough challenge. Tour by Tony Marchand and Pat Kipp (2017).

Food stops:
Lumberville General Store - mile 21
5: Bill Kolano, Arnie Cohen(C), Andy Milstein(C), Andrew Diorioridden
10/15Fri 9:45amC/B/34/1771Denville Savage RdVinny Catanzaro476 - Denville-Fayson Lakes52

I like to stop at the end of the ride at Church Street Bagels but we could discuss this at the start. Bring a cue sheet. I will go back and forth but eventually sweep. C Plus and B riders will enjoy this challenging, heart throbbing short ride. Weather is suppose to be warm and humid so bring 2 bottles.

A pleasant ride with little traffic over the back roads of Rockaway Valley and past Fayson Lakes, Silias Condit Park and Grace Lord Park.

Here’s a ride that is amazing, and a great tour for Halloween.  This ride has not been scheduled in over a year.
I drove this route in my convertible with the top down to take it all in.  Yes, we will have some climbs, notably Mt. Grove Road, and West Valley Road. But the descent on Hoffman Crossings and views are spectacular. We will cruise along the South Branch of the Raritan River and along freshly paved Vernoy Road. I don’t know of too many rides that will take you directly past the Cider Mill, Alstead Farm, and Cocoluxe, all on the same ride!
After crossing Rt.206 on a diagonal, we get to enjoy a 4 mile descent on Old Gladstone Road/Old Chester Road that takes us into Peapack. Finally, we barely have to climb Whitenack Road and then come home via Mine Brook Road. The scheduled stop would be at the Califon General Store, with restrooms nearby on Bank Street. Of course, we can add an additional quick stop at any of the above mentioned places for cider donuts or desserts.   I am hoping for great weather. The foliage will most likely be near peak.   Come join me on this fabulous ride.
