Join me for this 4Th of July shorty. You’ll be home in time for your family’s hot dog eating contest and that sheet cake your aunt tries so hard to make look like an American flag. Maybe this is the year she finally nails it.

Many thanks to Dennis Budnik for creating this course and introducing me to it last month. This tour has everything: quiet, shady roads, awesome views, and friendly locals.

Kingwood Park has bathrooms in the building/overhang and there is usually a porta-potty (even in winter when the bathrooms are locked). Plenty of picnic tables also.  The route is quiet: Wooded areas, open fields and farms with very little cars.   Rest stops at Sergeantsville General Store (mile 9) and Dunkin Donuts (mile 14.7).
