04/18Fri 10:00amC/C+/36/1566Summer Road Park, ReadingtonArnie Cohen1119 - Lower Case44

Join me as I celebrate the 78th anniversary of my birth.

The weather is expected to be in the high 60's with snacks and beers at Readington Brewery to follow.

What a perfect way to celebrate!

This is the same tour as 288 but turns on Summer from Lazy Brook without crossing Rt. 202 an additional two times and going on Old York Road. This tour traverses a few new roads, hills are unavoidable but moderate and can easily be handled by slower riders. Original tour by Chaim Schreiber and shortened by Jan Gorban (2017).

Food stops: Ringoes - Carousel Deli - mile 18 Arnie Cohen(C), Andy Milstein(C), Les Garber(C), Dennis McDermott(C), Kerry Haselton(C), Jeff Sperling(C), Tracy Brown(C), John Delaney(S), Elizabeth Jennison(C), Jim Barnish, Fred Bennett(C), Larry Thomas(C), Michael Calderaro(C), Joe DeCagna(C), Mark Baumeister(C), Glenn Pierson, Dennis Budnik, Mark Schwartz, Lynne Avery(C), Paulo Piedade(C), Barbara Delaney(D), Maurice Alvarez(B)scheduled

04/18Fri 10:30amC+/C+/49/2330Hope Park & RideTom Sterk248 - Hope-Day Trip To Bangor48

Short coffee stop in Bangor. Looks like Renee's in Bangor is permanently closed, sorry Bill! There is a Sunoco station with a convenience store at mile 22 that may suffice. Or there are options in Belvedere, right before the last, big climb.

Ride thru Portland, NJ to quaint Bangor, PA, for lunch. This ride has very little traffic
and rides along roads seldom travelled by the Freewheelers, but there are some
pretty good hills to climb along the way.

Food stops: Bangor (Renee's Diner - slow service - mile 23, other options in Bangor),
Belvidere (mile 36)

04/18Fri 5:00pmC+/C+/28/1222Kingwood ParkDennis Budnik1396 - Rural Roads of Hunterdon County **CANCELED**44

Join me for my training ride/s through beautiful and quite Hunterdon County.  This is for "C" riders who want to take it up a notch (not for sightseeing).  I use this route for endurance training and hope to continue throughout the warmer weather hoping we get stronger over the season.  This is a "drop ride" (I'm not waiting).  We leave at 5:05PM.  No T.T. Bikes.  If you run tubeless and get a flat, you are on your own (I don't want to come home dripping in tire sealant).  Rain, strong winds cancels (I will cancel before 2PM that day).  Peace!  dB

Kingwood Park has bathrooms in the building/overhang and there is usually a porta-potty (even in winter when the bathrooms are locked). Plenty of picnic tables also.  The route is quiet: Wooded areas, open fields and farms with very little cars.   Rest stops at Sergeantsville General Store (mile 9) and Dunkin Donuts (mile 14.7).

04/19Sat 9:30amC/B/39/2164Loantaka-South St., Morris Twp.Sal Rizzo373 - Loantaka-Near & Far Hills55

Here's one of my favorite rides I like to do every year at least once.  A little warmer a little earlier.  Starting temps should be in the 60's going into the 70's.

The deli stop will be at Dunkin Donuts at mile 25.

A nice ride to Far Hills combining some of our well traveled roads. Updated in 2014 to go down Skyline instead of Carlton. Food stops: Krauszer's in Liberty Corner (mile 22.3) Dunkin Donuts - mile 24.6 in Lyons Mall Sal Rizzo(C), Stephen Davis(C), Paul Zitelli(C)scheduled
04/19Sat 10:45amD+/B/24/1121Burnt Mills ParkJeff Sperling1450 - BEDMINSTER GRAVEL LONG47

Saturday is scheduled to warm up,  so it’s time to get back and resume our popular gravel rides. This is a great ride that travels the Bedminster roads in a different sequence. Please bring adequate fluids and nutrition for this ride.  Riders should be riding tires a minimum  width of 32 mm.  Remember we will be leaving from Burnt Mills Park on Frontage Road. Come join me on Saturday.

04/20Sun 9:30amC+/C/31/823Chatham Township Municipal BuildingJoseph Reo1390 - Meyersville/Great Swamp Express 127

Happy Holidays - Let's get a quick 30 Miler in so we can all get home and help with the festivities.  I would love to have someone put in a C ride to back this one up as the group has been hitting a B pace for the most part.   If a C ride back stop is entered this ride will become a drop ride.

A perfect ride for all levels from D to B.   The route is perfect for a leisurely pace to enjoy the beauty of the great swamp or as a pace-line training ride.  The one larger hill on Millbrook Road is purposely included in the first third of the ride while your legs are fresh. Although there are no places to stop for food on this ride, Loantaka Park at Mile 11 is a great place to stop and regroup and take a bathroom break if needed.  The starting point also has a bathroom available if the municipal building is open.
