04/14Wed 9:30amC/B/32/1852Denville Savage RdTracy Brown1217 - Old Beach Glen the Easier Way58

Limited to 10 cyclist given 10am ride. Bring cue and mask.

This tour is essentially the reverse of our popular #848, with a loop through Cedar Lake & Cooks Pond early on.  It tackles Old Beach Glen early on and is a less steep  challenge.  It also reverses the awkward downhill of the pothole filled portion of Kinnelon Ave & makes it a safer route. It also schedules a stop at Lakeside Bagels, and thus eliminates the risky crossing of Green Pond Road.

Ok, This s my 2nd time as a Ride Leader. Hopefully it will go smooth. ?Kinnelon is now paved and smooth but Boonton Ave is terrible with pot holes so be careful. If Joe De Cagna, my ride buddy shows up he will sweep. I will go back and forth.

This is TB ride (B to B+ or 16-17 mi/hr) and therefore riders generally ride at a faster average compared to day rides. However, this is NOT a TA Ride (average=18+ mph). For the past few weeks, the average of TB rides substantially averaged (I clocked, 19.5, 19.4, 19.7, 19. 8, and 20.5 mi/hr for 30 miles rides), this is insane - I would not allowed in my rides as a TB leader. It scares the B and B+ riders to join TB and it is not safe. Those who join my rides will obey the advertised pace or I will not allowed you to ride with TBs.

This ride starts the same as MAFW 213 but changes in Mendham/Peapack. The upper sections use some roads that no other Bed1 ride uses. Tour by Ron Lane (2017).

If you can't ride Saturday this tour is for you! A Club charmer since the early days the scenic routing & rolling terrain are amazing (39.4 feet elevation is top end of flat terrain). C+ pace is right for this "rubberneck" tour but if you want to break... let the force be with you. See you on the ride - Mark

A superlative tour originally designed by master tour creators Tony Marchand & Charlie Kalb then redone by Muffin Williams to include the Summer Rd. Park start point. Leaving the park the tour goes to Flemington then traverses thee Kingwood Rd. plateau before descending into Frenchtown (brief stop). Regroup after 2 mi. climb on Fairview Rd.

This is a short ride that hits many of the usual roads in the opposite direction and a few nice hills.

There really is no easier way. But it is the perception that counts.

No stop - Summer ice cream cones at the end!
